What features are affected?
The Eventbot beta has ended and two features will be switched to the Eventbot Team Plan on May 6th:
- Use of Eventbot in private channels
- Sending events from Slack to an external calendar application
All other features will remain the same on May 6th, however these feature will no longer be accessible unless your workspace upgrades to the paid Team Plan.
Transition for the "send to calendar" feature
If you have been using the "send to calendar" feature, you will be directly affected by the change on May 6th. Any existing events you've RSVP'ed to will continue to be reflected in your external calendar. However, new events that you RSVP to in Slack will not be reflected on the external calendar unless your workspace upgrades to the Team plan. In addition, any edits to an event (i.e. changing the date or location) will not be reflected in the external calendar, unless on the Team Plan. We highly suggest you upgrade to the Team Plan if you are currently using this feature.
Transition for the use of Eventbot in private channels
If you have been using Eventbot in a private channel, you will be directly affected by the change on May 6th. Any existing events you've created or RSVP'ed to will not be changed. However, after May 6th, users will not be able to see upcoming events, receive reminders, or create new events. Eventbot will not be active in the private channel, unless the workspace is upgraded to the Team Plan. If you and your team have been using Eventbot in private channels, consider upgrading to continue usage.
